Hey there, I'm Isaac

Backend Engineer building things that work

I'm a backend engineer who loves building systems that actually work. You know, the kind that don't crash at 2 AM. I've been doing this for 4+ years now, mostly with Go and Python.

What gets me excited? Distributed systems, clean APIs, and making databases cry with optimized queries (in a good way). I'm that person who actually enjoys writing documentation and designing database schemas.

Outside of coding, you'll probably find me:

  • Reading about system design on my commute
  • Contributing to open source projects I care about
  • Mentoring junior devs because I remember being there
  • Tinkering with new tech just to see how it breaks
  • Drinking way too much coffee while debugging
  • Reading too many fantasy books (I think I might have mentioned that😎)

I've worked on everything from real-time classroom platforms handling 100+ concurrent users to inventory systems tracking thousands of daily transactions. Each project taught me something new, usually that caching is hard and logging saves lives.

Right now I'm diving deeper into distributed systems architecture and figuring out how to make things scale without losing my mind. I believe in writing code that's not just functional but also readable: the next person (or future me) will thank you.

“Code is read more often than it's written. Make it a good read.”

That's my philosophy.

When I'm not at my desk, I'm probably:

  • Exploring new restaurants in my city (food is life)
  • Playing video games or getting lost in a good book
  • Learning something completely unrelated to tech (balance, right?)
  • Working on side projects that may or may not ever see the light of day

I'm always open to interesting conversations, collaborations, or just nerding out about backend architecture. Feel free to reach out!
